This fountain pen is made from black hard rubber with Sterling Silver Overlay in the Trefoil Vine pattern, which was in use on the Waterman pens from roughly 1907 to 1923. The hard rubber portion of the pen displays a deep black color with no oxidation on the barrel or cap. The butt end of barrel end has an imprint that reads, «442 1/2V».
